Our experience began at 4pm as devotees gathered into the Devi Mandir anxiously waiting for the appearance of Narender Chanchal and his musical ensemble. Before Narender Ji's appearance, devotees listened to the sweet sounds of the shehenai playing in the background as it prepared everyone for a joyous and soul pleasing evening. Soon enough, Narender Ji entered the Mandir heading straight for Durga Maa in his undying devotion to receive her blessings for the evening ahead. As he stood on the altar he began with a single note, his deep booming voice resonating throughout the entire temple as all eyes immediately focused on him.
His voice, his gestures and his enthusiasm created an atmosphere of bliss, happiness and excitement as he moved through the crowd encouraging everyone to clap, sing and dance to the glories of our Gods. In addition to his fantastic voice, Narender Ji provided another form of entertainment for his audience, one that brought so many smiles to all faces.
Dancers who cheerfully performed for all the Gods, as well as dancers who came in dressed as the Gods themselves surprised all in attendance. Hanuman Ji, the loyal servant gracefully carried Ram and Sita into the Mandir and danced before them showing His unconditional love and respect. Shiva Ji danced among the audience as water flowed out of His long black hair, while Radha and Krishna gave a loveable and mischievous dance performance. Their love for God encouraged many to get up and start dancing along.
Near the end of the program Narender Ji took requests from the audience who enjoyed every minute of his performance. Many thanks to all the volunteers who made this event possible for it was truly an event to remember.
