Visit by Bangladesh Canada School of Hinduism and Cultural Studies

On Saturday August 12, 2023, the Devi Mandir welcomed sixty-five devotees of all ages (including a majority of students) from the Bangladesh Canada School of Hinduism and Cultural Studies, located in Scarborough. As they disembarked their buses beaming with excitement, the Community Outreach lead of Devi Mandir (Cecil Ramnauth) welcomed them to the Devi Mandir and provided a brief history of the Devi Mandir from the little farmhouse to the current structure designed within the ancient Vedic principles of Vastu Sastra.

In addition to sharing our outreach engagements and religious programming at the Devi Mandir, Cecil also explained how this building design (with a striking exterior) influenced the successful installation of Solar Panels on the roof supplying power back to the Hydro Grid.

As the tour was only meant to be brief, the well-disciplined and humble devotees quietly gathered in the sanctuary of the Prayer Hall to offer their prayers, to take their blessings, and to ask their questions. Bhai Ashis Das – Secretary of the Organisation, thanked the Devi Mandir for hosting them and further expressed the hope that our Temples can pursue future collaborations. As a parting gift of hospitality, the Devi Mandir team offered snacks to all attendees as they embarked their buses to visit the Triveni Mandir in Brampton.

A few pictures from the visit are included in the Gallery Section of this website.
